Flash Mob Vengeance

It should have been the dream proposal. If they had only done as he said. Keep it simple. Nothing too big. But no!

Charlie Nelson, physicist, was planning on asking his girlfriend Annie to marry him. He booked a table at Valenti’s, and called on ‘Choir World’ to provide the perfect accompaniment. A troupe of professional singers available for weddings, christenings and private parties. They were supposed to serenade them. Like a small harmony group or barbershop quartet. Nobody asked for a flash mob.

However, fifty people got up and sang. The whole restaurant, and she ran out of there embarrassed. He never saw her again.

That was a year ago. Annie had met someone else and gotten engaged. Charlie should have moved on, but instead he went crazy. He was going to make them all pay. His ex, the restaurant, and that damn flash mob that ruined everything.

The chemist had it all planned. Annie always celebrated her birthday at Valenti’s, her favourite spot. She would be dining there with her new fiancé, and Charlie arranged for a surprise. He would hire the same flash mob to sing once again, but with an added twist.

He used his chemistry skills to construct a little device, and had it sent to the restaurant. Packed inside a birthday cake, with pink icing, and tied with a bow. And when the lead singer in the choir hit that final high note, the evening would go with a bang.
